National Pancake Day! It's March 7th.

Since 2006, IHOP National Pancake Day has raised more than US$24 million for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals - where every dollar raised goes directly to your local children’s hospital. You and your Kiwanis family club can help us ‘put a purpose behind the pancakes’ by explaining how donations made can help your local hospitals.

Starting Feburary 2nd our club will be changing its meeting place from the Giant Orange to the Tierra Oaks Golf Club. The board has made this decision, one reason is to help club growth. The board agrees that this is a great thing for our club's future. We are looking forward to a quiet space with cheaper breakfast and more room. 

January 21st Division 39 came together to celebrate 102 years of Kiwansi International. We celebreted at our thrid annual Governor's Visit where we had a Children's Carnival, Chili cook off and a Cornbread cook off. We had a blast and inducted two new members! 

Friday Kiwanis International debuted a new mural on its Indianapolis headquarters. The new mural is in line with the new branding and shows viewers that Kids Need Kiwanis. The mural faces a major highway that has thousands of commuters and travelers. Looking good Kiwanis! :D

These fantastic students were recognized yesterday morning for their hard work and dedication to their school work over the last semester. Great job guys!

After a year of planning it's finally done! December 23 we brought home a beautiful newly wrapped trailer. Thanks to Signarama for giving us a great deal and making it possible. This new wrap will help us to stand out when we are at events and serving the community.

Today we had our second ever Golf Tourn. for our backpack program. It was a great success and can't wait until next year :)

Shasta Dam Kiwanis Club has partnered with Scholastic, an organization that provides children access to book and promotes lifelong loce of reading, to launch in the Gateway Unified School District the first Kiwanis Reading Oasis north of Sacramento. 

Children and their families deserce a safe and comfortable place to read books, Shasta Dam Kiwanis Club said in a news release. Wish the new Kiwanis Reading Oasis at Shasta Lake School that's exactly what they get - right inside our local elementary school. The grand opening of the Reading Oasis room was held Nov. 30th prior to the school's Literacy night.
